David Nixon Obituary

DAVID A. NIXON, 83 of Weirton, WV passed away Monday January 2, 2017 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born March 16, 1933 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Richard M. and Oma Olive Webster Nixon. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dickie Nixon.

David was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He served his country in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War era. He retired as a journeyman lineman from IBEW Local No.126, Germantown, PA.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 60 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" Blewitt Nixon; daughters, Jenny Anderson (Tom) of Weirton, WV, Julie Yingst (Gary) of Follansbee, WV, Felicia Gurrera (Michael) of Columbia, SC; son, Jason Nixon (friend Cori) of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Justin, Jesamyn, Dante, Francesca, Gianni, Marisa, Jennifer, Madi, Josh; great grandchildren, Henry, Ellena, Michael T., Addalynn, Quinn; sister, Shirley Martelle of Toronto, OH; brother, Mark Nixon (Donna) of Mansfield, OH.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 4, 2017 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral/committal services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Carol McKay presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Christ United Methodist Church OR The Table of Hope, P.O. Box 2149, 3598 Pennsylvania Avenue, Weirton, WV 26062.
